Business.
The Mission has staffed its high school, now open for over
20 years, with generous volunteers from the U.S., Canada and other

school possible. Once staffed with 100% volunteers, the high school is
now run with about 3/4 paid Belizean staff and about 1/4 volunteers

The Mission is now looking for a few adventurous volunteers

project of teaching at this brand new college. They will begin small
with between 25 and 30 students the first year, (i.e. 1 class). All
students are to be required to take their liberal arts core, for which
they have mainly volunteer teachers. Few specialization classes will be
offered the first year.

From Monica Montanaro ('11):
I
currently teach at John Paul II Junior College. I highly recommend
this opportunity. While we face challenges every day, the work is
extremely rewarding. It is rare enough that one has the chance to do
mission work at all, but beyond that, this mission opportunity is
particularly in need of people with a strong Liberal Arts background. I
would be more than happy to discuss my experience and answer questions
for anyone who is interested!
If
you feel the call to join our team in this exciting new endeavor,
please send your information and any questions you may have to: info@jpjc.bz, or contact Monica Montanaro at mmontanaro@ca.thomasaquinas.edu for more information.
